D'André Newman (Mr. D')

Mr. D' has been an instrumental component of assisting with the startup of Uniquely and assists with daily planning, hiring, and corporate strategy.
D'André’s background comes from 20 years in commercial aviation and held executive positions for some of the world's leading international airlines. Before leaving the industry in 2018, D'André performed aviation incident investigations, performed risk assessments, researched and developed new procedures and safety standards, and trained 'human factors' at Virgin Australia.
From there, D'André co-founded and is the managing partner of MilViz USA, a boutique software engineering firm that develops flight simulation training solutions for the Department of Defense, military contractors, and commercial aviation companies. D'André often travels to USAF/Naval bases around the country and works with instructor pilots to develop and refine the solutions they need to train their cadets.
D'André takes this extensive passion and knowledge and developed a program for neurodivergent children we call Flying Uniquely utilizing the same physical tools currently in use by the USAF. This curriculum is specifically curated for each child depending on their individual learning abilities and pace. In practice, Flying Uniquely helps children further develop life skills such as decision making, executive functioning, communication, multi tasking, and situational awareness in a way that's fun, hands on, and engaging. Everyone at Uniquely contributes and dedicates their various passions to the growth of our kids and this is D'André’s way of innovating a unique experience our kids simply can't get enough of nor find anywhere else.
When Mr. D' is not busy, he is either enjoying his flight simulator at home, out with one of his many cameras shooting and hand developing film, or spending time with his wife and 2 dogs.
